Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
Description:
You will kill. The only question is when.
In the dark days since the insidious Red Lung virus decimated the human population, vampires have risen to rule the crumbling cities and suburbs. Uncontested Princes hold sway over diminished ranks of humans: their "pets." In exchange for their labor, loyalty and of course, their blood, these pets are registered, given food and shelter, permitted to survive.
Unregistered humans cling to fringes, scavenging for survival. Allison Sekemoto and her fellow Unregistereds are hunted, not only by vampires, but by rabids, the unholy result of Red Lung-infected vampires feeding on unwary humans. One night, Allie is attacked by a pack of rabids, saved by an unlikely hero...and turned vampire.
Uncomfortable in her undead skin, Allie falls in with a ragtag crew of humans seeking a cure, or cures: for Rabidism and for Vampirism. She's passing for human...for now. But the hunger is growing and will not be denied. Not for friendship—not even for love.
Coming out April 24, 2012
Why?
- Look at this cover! Creepy, mysterious, you can't help but wonder about it.
- The description of this book sound extremely interesting. What would this world be like? Would we even survive?
- It almost sounds like a zombie/vampire novel... So never a dull moment in this book (hopefully!).
What are you waiting for?
Happy Reading!

I just got this from NetGalley two weeks ago. Have you requested it already? :)

I did apply for it... I actually just got the email that says I've got it! Yay! So I guess I'm not really waiting for it now!
DeleteCongrats! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as most people seem to! :) Just noticed that I'm already a Networked Blogs follower.. I can't see your updates there, though. Do you know what's wrong? Maybe it's just my account again. ;/ Mhe!
DeleteI haven't had anyone say that they haven't been getting updates. I just check, and it looks like it is posting as normal. Also, my twitter and Facebook accounts are tied to it, and are posting as normal as well. I'll keep looking into though.
DeleteNice! the wait's almost over! It's also on Netgalley in case you hadn't heard yet and wanted to read it asap!
