One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Description:

You can run from the grave, but you can't hide . . .
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She's still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.
Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she'll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won't let her get away again.

My Review:

One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After 4 years, Cat and bones are reunited by chance at a wedding of mutual friends. At first Cat fights being with Bones because she wants to protect him. Then there is bones, who wants her back, and as the ever patient vampire, he is doing his very best to get her back.

Hmmm... What to say about this book. It is a delicious continuation of the Night Huntress Series. I already loved both Cat and Bones before the second book, but now my love for this series has been further cemented.

I loved this story because 1) Cat is still a bit of the insecure-uncomfortable-in-her-own-skin Cat, even though she is 4 years older, but she has grown so much that you know that she is a better character than she was before. 2)The action, the flow of this novel itself, were amazing. I don't like when a book slows to a crawl, and this one definitely never did! 3) The infamous chapter 32... And I don't need to say more on that one! 4) Finally, the witty banter is great. I love how it flows so seamlessly, and keeps me laughing through the book.

Personally, I wanted to cheer Cat and Bones (especially towards the end when there are decisions to make and you hope, pray and will fight to make sure it is the right decision made, and the occasional happy dance that occurs when thing goes right!), and I was excited as I read all the thoughts going through Cat's head as she made the decisions that she did make.

Highly Recommend this book, and DEFINITELY count on me reading the rest of this series and its spin off!

**Adult scenes in this book.  Not appropriate for all readers.**

Happy Reading!
