Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

Description:

Half-human and half-Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful—and passionate—of the Elder Races.

As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they've ignited in each other.

Pia knows she must repay Dragos for her trespass, but refuses to become his slave—although she cannot deny wanting him, body and soul.

Review:

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
5 out of 5

I loved the first chapter.  Pia definitely has a snary personality, and I love how it shows in that chapter.

Dragos is an interesting character.  He is a Wyr-dragon trying to understand the changes going on for him.  What is great (I think) is that Dragos is actually learning to be human, how to be in a relationship.  And I loved that it showed how hard it is.

Peanut is so cute!  Stubborn like his father, but has his mother's gifts.  He was definitely a surprise character, but an awesome one at that.  Can't wait to see what he does next.

I think Graydon the griffin is my favorite.  He was the perfect combination of brain, brawn, and sensitivity.  I think it was perfect that he would be the one to befriend Pia.

I love how this book is in an alternate universe where the magical world has been blending with human society since the Golden Age of Elizabeth I.

Omgoodness!  Does this book have some hot moments!  I loved how the attraction was immediate, but there was still resistance from Pia.  But when they finally let go!  Yes!  Fireworks were sparkling everywhere!  *Fanning myself* Makes me want a Dragos my own!

I think this book is a great introduction to this world.  You get to meet dark & light fae, Elves, Goblins, Wyrs of assorted shapes and types, and the halflings in between.  Plus, you get to see Other Land steeped in magic.  Absolutely loved it!

I think it was great getting to discover what Pia was.  I tried again and again to guess what she was, but was still totally surprised at what she was.  A great twist to this novel!

There were some great battles going on in this novel.  Places where you gasp with shock and awe.  I loved it!

Overall, this is an amazing book that will have you gasping with joy, guessing what will happen next, and fanning yourself while you look for a glass of ice water!  I highly recommend this book and I'm definitely going to be reading more of Ms. Harrison's other books!
Happy Reading!
