Why:

1. OMGoodness.  A strong willed female character that is a bit out of her time with her independence.... Sign me up!
2. A love interest that isn't one, or is he?  Hmmm.
3. Sounds a bit like the medieval or dark ages.  One of my favorite time periods.  
4. Honestly, look at the cover!  Mysterious, but shows Rachel's dangerousness.  I love it!
